Ingredients: Organic Essential Oils of Melissa, Melaleuca, Ravensara, Palmarosa, Lavender, Organic Herbal Oil of St. John’s Wort infused in Olive Oil.

Melissa (Melissa officinalis)
Melissa is considered to be one of the most powerful of all essential oils. Studies suggest it may have the ability to inhibit replication of the herpes virus and abolish herpes viral infectivity nearly completely. This includes the ability to prevent recurrent outbreaks as well as the ability to shorten the duration and severity of outbreaks. One reference study showed herpes viral formation was significantly reduced by 98.8% for HSV-1 and 97.2% for HSV-2. Melissa is lipophilic allowing it to penetrate deep into skin cells.

Melaleuca
Best known as a very powerful immune stimulant it can help to fight all three categories of infectious organisms (bacteria, fungi, and viruses). Some studies suggest Melaleuca has direct antiviral properties against the herpes virus as well as a distinct ability to calm and sooth skin sores. In one study Melaleuca exhibited high levels of virucidal activity against HSV-1 and HSV-2 with formation being reduced by 98.2% and 93.0% for HSV-1 and HSV-2, respectively. This formation was reduced when herpes simplex virus was pretreated with Melaleuca prior to absorption which indicated it most effective against the virus before and during recurrent penetration into the host cell.

Ravensara
Is considered to have antiseptic, anti-viral and antibacterial properties making it useful to treat cuts, wounds, burns, including herpes cold sores and genital sores. Ravensara is also known to strengthen the immune system.

Palmarosa
Is known for its action against viral illnesses and ability to stimulate skin cell regeneration and speed healing of the skin.

Lavender
Regarded as the most useful and versatile essential oil for therapeutic purposes. Used to treat sores and burns and heal the skin with its anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. Lavender has antiseptic and analgesic properties which will ease the pain of sores or burns and prevent infection. It also has cytophylactic properties that promote rapid healing and help reduce scarring.

Herbal Oil of St. John’s Wort infused in Olive Oil
St. John's Wort Herbal Oil has antiseptic, antiviral and astringent properties. This makes it ideal for application on wounds. It has also been credited for being a pain reliever and excellent for the reduction of swelling. Application to sores and burns improves recovery times.
